Todd Seaman, a 2013 graduate of the Moritz School of Law at The Ohio State University, recently passed the Ohio bar. Todd works at the Thompson-Hine law firm in Columbus. His parents are Michael and Cindy Seaman of Vandalia.

Melissa Frydman, daughter of Angela and Joel Frydman, finished the tennis season for Oakwood High School with a record of 15 wins and one loss and was named to the Third Team All-Area. Melissa, co-captain of the Oakwood Team, also won the Southwestern Buckeye League championship in third singles. An honor roll student, Melissa was recently inducted to the National Honor Society.

Joel Levinson, son of Meredith Moss Levinson and Jim Levinson, won the top prize in the Manischewitz Thanksgivukah video contest for his rap between a turkey and a dreidel. You can see Joel’s rap battle parody at thanksgivukah.com. And a new television show that his brother Stephen has been writing for is now on the Fusion network, the new ABC/Disney cable channel. Stephen is one of the comedy writers for Good Morning Today, developed by David Javerbaum, the 13-time Emmy winner who was the head writer for the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart for many years. Stephen and Joel both live in L.A. with their wives and sons.

The Fairview High School class of 1963 recently celebrated its 50th reunion. More than 120 people came together for the three events held at the Dayton Marriott. According to Bonnie Mendelson, it was one of the best class reunions ever. “It was a very special time for all of us,” she said. Besides Bonnie, graduates of the class include Terry Pinsky, Terri Goldberg, Dr. David Joffe, Barbara Davis Weprin, Joann Friedman, Sherry Gershaw, and Alan Flatt.

Dr. Heath Gilbert was awarded the 2013 Ohio Optometric Association President’s Award for his leadership and ongoing contributions to the profession. The award isn’t given every year, but at the president’s discretion. In attendance at the banquet in Cleveland were Heath’s kvelling wife, yours truly, and his proud parents, Dr. Ron and Shirlee Gilbert. According to Shirlee, Ron received this same award the first time it was given.
