On Nov. 6, Air Force Maj. Benjamin S. Robins was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel during a ceremony at the Pentagon. Benjamin holds the aeronautical rating of C130J instructor aircraft commander and C-21 evaluator aircraft commander. Having proudly served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, he is currently stationed at the Pentagon as a legislative liaison in the office of the Secretary of the Air Force. Benjamin is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He received his master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Georgetown University. Benjamin and his wife, Jennifer, are the proud parents of three children. He is the son of Martin Robins of Columbus and USAF Col. (Ret.) Frank and Roberta Mugford of Fairborn, and is the brother of Andrea Self of Centerville and Jeffrey Robins of Springfield.
On Jan. 19, David Klass, president of Dominus Development, was elected president of the Home Builders Association of Dayton.
Denny Zappin and Jamy Holliday will soon celebrate the one-year anniversary of their business venture, Zappin-Holliday Renovations. Jamy has been an independent contractor specializing in historic home renovations since 2000. The business handles interior and exterior renovating, rehabbing and remodeling, including kitchens, baths and flooring.
Dr. Ron Gilbert was honored at the 12th Annual People of Vision Awards Dinner, held by the Dayton Chapter of Prevent Blindness Ohio, with its Vision Care Outreach Award.
Cherie Rosenstein, one of several local Holocaust survivors whose stories and recipes have been published in the Holocaust Survivor Cookbook, was recently featured in Miracles & Meals the Movie. The documentary focuses on three stories from the cookbook, including Cherie’s. She and her husband, Stuart, were the guests of honor at the gala premiere of the film in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
