UJC 2007 Opening Gala
Dan Abrams, chief legal correspondent with NBC News and former host of The Abrams Report on MSNBC, will be the featured speaker at the 2007 United Jewish Campaign Opening Gala on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Boonshoft CJCE in Centerville.
A 1992 graduate of Columbia University School of Law, Abrams joined NBC News as a general assignment correspondent in 1997 and quickly became a regular contributor to NBC Nightly News, Today, and Dateline NBC. He has reported on the Bush v. Gore post-election battles, President Clinton’s impeachment trial, the Scott Peterson trial, and the Oklahoma City bombing trials. More recently, he has covered legal issues associated with the War on Terror and provided in-depth analysis and coverage of the Michael Jackson trial.
Prior to joining NBC News, Abrams served as an anchor and reporter for Court TV, where he covered the O. J. Simpson criminal and civil trials from Los Angeles, the International War Crimes Tribunal from the Netherlands, and the assisted-suicide trials of Dr. Jack Kevorkian from Michigan.
The United Jewish Campaign is the annual fund-raising arm of the Jewish Federation. It secures funds to improve the quality of Jewish life and help Jews in need in the Miami Valley, Israel and around the world.
Chairs of the opening gala are Dr. Ann and Steve Sherbet. Participants will be asked to make their pledges to the 2007 United Jewish Campaign during the evening.
Tickets are available at the door.
