NCCJ: Nurturing Community, Cultivating Justice will present Debbie Feldman with its Pat Meadows Lifetime Achievement Award and Bonnie Beaman Rice will receive an NCCJ Humanitarian Award at its Friendship Celebration Dinner, Oct. 20 at the Dayton Art Institute. The dinner provides operating funds to support NCCJ’s diversity, equity, and inclusion programs; youth leadership development; and educational workshops aimed at stopping bias and bigotry in the Miami Valley.

Hillel Jewish University Center of Pittsburgh has named Grant Halasz director of Jewish student life at Carnegie Mellon University. Grant is the son of Teri and Dr. Mike Halasz.

Father and daughter Saul Caplan and Jenny Caplan are each involved in popular Jewish-themed stage productions in our region. Jenny plays Yente in Merit Theatre Company’s production of Fiddler on the Roof, Aug. 28-Sept. 5 at Anderson Center Theatre in Cincinnati. Saul is directing Brookville Community Theatre’s production of Driving Miss Daisy, on stage there Sept. 11-20.
