Jewish Family Services brings back chore service

Under the name of Chai Life Services, Dayton’s Jewish Family Services will begin offering help with chores in September to anyone who lives in Montgomery County and parts of nearby Greene County.

“In speaking with members of our community, JFS saw a need to help people in areas that have become difficult for them to complete,” JFS Executive Director Brian Kerstine said.

Kerstine said Chai Life Services will help people complete tasks, chores, and responsibilities “that may be difficult for them to complete for any reason, such as physical limitations, time constraints, or knowledge of how to do something.”

JFS Transportation Driver Nate Lyons will be the Chai Life service provider.

The cost to use the service is $25 an hour. Clients can save money with the purchase of 10 hours in advance for $200.

“For those who cannot afford that total, our social worker will reach out and discuss options,” Kerstine added.

To schedule Chai Life Service appointments, call JFS Administrative Assistant Jacquelyn Archie at 937-401-1551.
