State of higher ed. focus of Federation annual meeting
Dayton native Andrew Flagel, president and CEO of the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area, will present the keynote, A Jewish Perspective on Higher Education in the U.S., at the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton and its agencies annual meeting, 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 16 at the Boonshoft Center for Jewish Culture and Education.
Flagel previously served as vice president for advancement at the Association of American Colleges and Universities; senior vice president, chief of student affairs and chief enrollment officer at Brandeis University; and dean of enrollment at George Mason University. He is the son of Jewish Federation President-Elect Marni Flagel and the late Richard Flagel.
The annual meeting kosher brunch program is free and open to the public. The Federation will install new officers and board members and recognize those retiring from the board and agencies.
Linda Novak will receive the Federation’s Past Presidents Award and Alan Chesen will receive the Robert A. Shapiro Award at the meeting.
