Screening, panel discussion of PBS’s Black & Jewish America April 29

ThinkTV and PBS, in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton and Miami Valley Urban League, will present an edited screening of Henry Louis Gates Jr.’s new documentary series, Black and Jewish America: An Interwoven History, 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 29 at The Tank at the Dayton Arcade.

Following the screening, U.S. District Judge Walter H. Rice will moderate a panel discussion with Temple Israel’s Rabbi Karen Bodney-Halasz and Omega Baptist Church’s Pastor Joshua D. Ward.

In the series, Gates interviewed dozens of scholars, activists, and religious leaders about the kinship between the two groups, defined by eras of solidarity and division.
