Craig Jay Rabiner, age 66 of Dayton, formerly of Atlanta, passed away April 23. Mr. Rabiner was the owner of Kohn’s Loan Co. in Lima and Cincinnati. He was a graduate of OSU and Emory Law School with a J.D. Mr. Rabiner served in the Vietnam War in the special forces. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Rabiner, and sister, Penny Rabiner Lehman. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Andrea Scher Rabiner, son Brent Rabiner of Cincinnati, daughter, Dr. Chana Rabiner of Washington, D.C., mother Sophia Rabiner of Lima, mother-in-law Marilyn Scher of Dayton, sister and brother-in-law Kim and Barry Morris of Cincinnati, brothers-in-law Gary (Jodie) Scher and Mark Scher both of Dayton, and Dennis Lehman of Miami, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Interment was at Beth Jacob Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The James Cancer Center, Chabad of Greater Dayton, Hospice of Dayton or the charity of your choice.

Sarah Jeanne Sholiton, 94 years 9 months, previously a resident of Dayton and recently of Hollywood, Fla. died on May 8. She attended New York University after graduating high school at age 15. While raising five children, she found time to help her husband run a family business and also participate in many organizations. She was a past president of B’nai Brith Women’s Chapter 286 and Eastern Star. She also gave her time at the Dayton Hebrew School (later Hillel Academy), Jewish Home For The Aged (later Covenant House) and ran the gift shop at Beth Jacob Synagogue for many years when it was on Kumler Avenue. Her proudest participation was to be part of and then oversee the Chevra Kadisha Society at Beth Jacob for nearly 20 years. She loved to play golf, fish with her children and always greeted people with a smile and generous spirit. She was preceded by her husband, William Jacob, son, Stuart Edwin and beloved granddaughter Kimberly Sholiton. She is survived by Marcia Holt, Garianne Sholiton, Robert Sholiton (Janet), Anita Sholiton and Donna Sholiton(Stuart); nine Grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Interment was at Beth Jacob Cemetery. Memorial contribution in her memory may be made to Beth Jacob Synagogue, 7020 North Main Street, Dayton, Ohio 45415.

Adele K. Tilson, born Nov. 14, 1923 in Dayton, passed away on May 14,. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Mrs. Tilson was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Elizabeth Kravitz, husband Jack Tilson, brothers Albert and Hillard Kravitz and sister Janet Burick. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Jeffrey (Bethanne) Tilson, Barry (Bonnie) Tilson and Mark (Sherry) Tilson; grandchildren, Julie (Matt) Stanley, Jamie (Jon) Ross, Katie, Sam, Jessica and Cory Tilson; great-grandsons, Jack and Charlie Stanley; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tilson was a graduate of Fairview High School and Sinclair Community College. She was a lifelong member of Beth Abraham Synagogue and Hadassah. Interment was at Beth Abraham Cemetery. Donations are preferred to Beth Abraham Synagogue, 305 Sugar Camp Circle, Dayton, OH 45409 or Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Ave., Columbus OH 43209 in her memory.
